MTC Gas Australia is a Brisbane-based family owned company specialising in gas installation and maintenance. We started in 1989 as a small gas fitting business, and since then have grown to offer a comprehensive range of services to the major gas utilities in Queensland, with APA and Origin Energy amongst our many clients.
We have a team of over 30 licensed gas fitters operating from a professionally managed office with the backup of a large inventory warehouse onsite.
Over the years we have primarily been involved in larger commercial contracts for the gas utilities and we carry out domestic and commercial gas installation and hot water maintenance – providing a 24 hour and 7 day energy response service for our customers.
We have also recently expanded into industrial gas installation.
We believe that gas will play a vital role in Australia’s future energy needs and MTC Gas is committed to being a part of the industry’s future growth.
General Manager – Con McMonagleCon began his career in the gas industry in the UK in 1974, working for British Gas for thirteen years before coming out to Australia in 1987. Con founded MTC Gas in Sydney in 1989 after working in Australia for AGL, and, with his British Gas and AGL experience, managed various projects in NSW, Victoria and Tasmania before relocating the business to Queensland in 1996. Con has combined his hands-on gas fitter experience with his experience of managing interstate projects to secure a number of major clients in Queensland, as well as establishing MTC Gas as a leading domestic gas installation and service company in South East Queensland. |
Director – Tom CoenTom Coen is Chairman of Comdain Gas and Director of MTC Gas. Comdain Gas is a division of Comdain Group, a national leader in long term utility asset management and maintenance, civil construction and residential and commercial development. Operating since 1962 Comdain delivers ~$40M of infrastructure, construction and maintenance projects nationally every year, in both the private and government sectors. As well as Comdain, Tom is a director of other companies and has an intimate knowledge of business and systems. He brings a commitment to help expand MTC Gas and build a strong partnership between MTC and Comdain Gas. |

Operations Manager – Matt CarrOperations Manager Matt Carr joined MTC Gas in 2002 after a 12 year career at British Gas in the UK supervising domestic gas repair and maintenance operations. At MTC Gas Matt is responsible for ensuring that all projects meet stringent internal work quality and safety standards. He is also responsible for overall management of large installation and service projects, anything from complex gas installations for heavy industry to new commercial development projects, to overseeing maintenance contracts for high rise buildings from Brisbane to the Gold Coast. |
Office Manager – Hayley RiachHayley joined MTC Gas in 2008, having previously worked in operations for a major Australian gas company, where she was involved in a large scale change management program. As Office Manager at MTC she manages the administration team and all related IT systems, and she is responsible for all internal procedures and training. Hayley has worked in the gas industry since 2005 and holds a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Queensland. |
